The second batch of RGNUL, batch 2007-2012,mostly joined court practice, and the others secured law firm positions through internships and placement process. The placement process started in the month of April, 2011, and 42 out of a total batch strength of 79 students graduating this year got placed with law firms, advocates and legal process outsourcing companies (LPO).
The top recruiters this year were Lakshmi Kumaran & Sridharan, APJ-SLG and OSC Knowledge Centre, that recruited two students each. A total of 15 students got placed in law firms including Amarchand Mangaldas, that hired one student. Other prominent recruiters include Vaish Associates, Quislex and Juris Legal, that hired one student each.
K.G.Bhagat, Noida litigation firm Shekhar Vyas & Associates, Kolkata firm R. Ginodia & Company, boutique intellectual property law firm Amarjit & Associates, Shatanu Mohan & Associates, Seth Dua and Associates, Ranchi’s Poddar & Associates, India Juris, all hired one student each from RGNUL this year.
Most of these placements were procured through internships and pre-placement offers.
The following table depicts the career options as preferred by the students of RGNUL, Batch 2007-2012.
Seven students opted to pursue clerkship at the Supreme Court of India. Five students opted to pursue higher studies in India; while six students opted to go abroad to pursue higher studies. Twenty students have opted to pursue litigation and nine students have opted to prepare for judicial services.
Since April last year, RGNUL’s recruitment coordination committee (RCC) attempted to talk to over 300 law firms, 50 companies, and some other legal organisations into visiting campus, according to the school’s statement.
