Seeking admission in state's biggest girls' college, Maharani's College, has become tougher. Those aspiring for a B.Com degree need to have 91% or above, while other popular courses in science and humanities, too, have seen a rise in the first cut-off list declared on Friday evening.
The cut-off marks in all three streams have jumped between 3%-5 % owing to good result this year. Even in BA Pass Course, the cut-off has seen a rise of 3% compared to previous year.
Science subjects — Maths, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology has also seen a rise in percentage. This year, the college received over 7,500 forms against total of a little over 2,600 seats in various degree programmes.
