IIM Raipur 2012-2014- Cutoffs 80 Percentile

CAT_2011_admissonsThe 2012-2014 admissions into the IIM Raipur for 120 seats batch which is the third batch of the institution will begin shortly. As a policy the IIMs have declared their admission criteria for the academic year 2012-14. This year, the new IIMs will hold a Joint Admission Process. The institutes would be IIM Ranchi, Raipur, Rohtak, Trichy, Kashipur and Udaipur. IIM Ranchi will lead the proceedings. All institutes will use the CAT scores to shotlist candidates which will be followed by a Personal interviews and written analysis. This procedure is planned to be conducted at five different centers across Mumai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Bengaluru.

The final evaluation of a candidate will be based on the weightage of his/her scores in

  1. CAT 2011 score- 50% Weightage
  2. Personal interview(20%) and Written Analysis (10%)- 30% Weightage
  3. Candidates Profile- 20% Weightage.

The cut-offs for various categories would be as follows:

2. Personal interview (20%) and written analysis (10%)- 30% Weightage

Candidates will be evaluated on their personal interview and the written analysis test. The Personal Interview is related to the profile and aspirations of the students. Questions regarding current affairs are also asked. The written analysis consists of an essay on an issue relating to politics, business, sports, geo-politics etc. Good knowledge of current affairs is a mandate to crack these sections.

3.  Candidate's Profile

This could be mainly divided into Academic Profile and Work Experience if any. The break up could be as follows:

  1. Class 10 grades - 10
  2. Class 12 grades - 10
  3. Graduation - 20
  4. Work Experience - For work experience more than 6 months every 6 months fetch 5 points. ex: 24 months= 15 points (0-6 months=0 points)

Diversity
To balance the male-female ratio and the engineering-non engineering ratio. IIM Raipur will use the following marking scheme:

  1. Male Candidates- 0
  2. Female Candidates- 15
  3. Engineering Candidates- 0
  4. Non Engineering Candidates-15
