The 5th Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) was conducted today in 20 cities across 46 centres in India. The paper although, when compared to CLAT 2011, was easier and shorter, it did leave a lot of students baffled and annoyed. Students were asked questions on static and legal GK, which was apparently out of the CLAT 'syllabus'. GyanCentral catches up with Harsh Gagrani, an expert Current Affairs teacher and the Director of LegalEdge Tutorials, Bhopal. Harsh, who graduated from NLIU, Bhopal in 2011, is also the author of the recently released book 'MCQs on Current Affairs 2011-12'. He gives a detailed analysis of this year's CLAT. Excerpts.

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), one of the most important law entrance examinations in India, which helps law aspirants get into the prominent National Law Universities in the country, was conducted today. Maharashtra-CET 2012 (Mah-CET), conducted by Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra took place on 10th May. It was conducted in three batches – Physics/Chemistry, Biology and Math, each 1.5 hours. MHT-CET 2012 conducted by Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra is defnitely one of the biggest engineering and medical entrance tests of the year considering over 3 lakh students took the exam this year. Its also very elusive in a sense that students do not get the question papers to take back and so most of them are usually clueless as to what score to expect of the same. The exam was conducted in three batches – Physics/Chemistry, Biology and Math – each 1.5 hours. Gyancentral visited the Mumbai centres of MHT-CET and caught up with students walking.

All India Law Entrance Test (AILET), one of the most popular and much awaited law entrance examinations in India, to get into the prestigious National Law University, Delhi was conducted on 6th May. It created a lot of hullabaloo among the students where they claimed to be really shocked with the paper. The General Knowledge (GK) section was full of science related questions and the Legal Aptitude (LA) section had more legal GK questions rather than legal reasoning.
