The never ending legal mess relating to the Common Law Admission Test, 2012 (CLAT) is only getting murkier by the day. The latest news being another petition, that has been filed before the Delhi High Court (Civil Writ Petition No. 3738/2012) by one Nipun Gautam, praying for revaluation and staying of release of the third allotment list till the revaluation is complete.

One academician who has constantly been making news for the wrong reasons is Professor Gautam Barua, Director of IIT Guwahati. There are some serious corruption charges leveled against him and students have been complaining of a so called 'dual face' of Prof. Barua. The CLAT Core Committee 2012 in its first meeting at NLU Jodhpur held during October 1-2, 2011 had dropped the idea of establishment of a CLAT Secretariat. Earlier, this issue was raised in the meeting of CLAT 2011 held on September 21, 2012; however, no decision was reached regarding this.
