GATE has definitely spearheaded as one of India's biggest exams with over 10 lakh candidates taking it in 2013. The results were out recently and we decided to talk to some of the toppers. One of them is simple, coy but extremely brilliant. Surya Ragunaathan talks to Shivam Dubey, All India Rank VII. He is a mechanical engineer from Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Ambala.

GATE 2013 which is single largest entrance exam whose score is used to take admissions to PG and doctoral courses in engineering, technology, architecture and science, saw over 10 lakh candidates taking the test this year. So there has been a drastic increase in competition over the previous year (30 percent) and that makes it commendable that one should make it among the top ten All Indian Ranks. Surya Ragunaathan speaks to one such topper – All India Rank IV, Poonam Kumar, a mechanical engineer from NIEC, Delhi (2012).
29,530 applications were received for (UG) CLAT-2013 at the CLAT Office (HNLU, Raipur) by the scheduled last date, i.e. March 30, 2013. 11,137 candidates applied offline and 18,393 applied online for the under graduate law entrance examination.
