Institute description

Jaipur National University started in the year 1999 by Raja Ram Mohan Roy - the founder. It is located in Jaipur, Rajasthan, and is affiliated to Jaipur National University. It offers degrees in Law such as Business Law Master of Laws (LLM). The Institute offers its students a wide range of facilities such as Moot court room, Library, Extra-curricular activities, Canteen, Spacious Class Rooms. The School of Law and Governance, inaugurated by Hon'ble Justice P. P. Naolekar then Judge of the Supreme Court of India, in December 2007, was re-christened by the University as "Seedling School of Law and Governance" to give it a distinct identity. The Seedling School of Law and Governance plans to take special efforts to spread the awareness about Law as a dignified, profitable, and social-service-oriented profession. Seedling Group of educational Institutions, known for having established institutions imparting quality education in Rajasthan, decided to establish a School of Law and Governance to promote legal education under the self-financing private university of Rajasthan, the new Jaipur National University, Jaipur, established by the Government of Rajasthan, vide Jaipur National University, Jaipur Act (No. 5) of 2008. In a vast State like Rajasthan, we have only one National Law School, which due to severe national level competition is not able to cater adequately for the law-aspirants from the State. The youth must be given wider options to pursue law along the lines of the national law schools, even if they fail to make to the few seats available at these schools and our School of Law and Governance caters for such option. Since the late 1980's, study of law has attracted bright youngsters in India mainly because it has become a professional course in the new five-year integrated programme of study, anointed by the Bar Council of India, with the blessings of the Judiciary. The five-year integrated programme of law studies throws open at least four avenues of career
