INTRODUCTION

An international group of research students and professionals, working with advisors and faculty members, are seeking a talented student, with experience in graphic design and web-development, to start working with them, immediately. The team comprises of scholars from LSE, Science-Po, ISB Hyderabad, Universität St. Gallen, Maastricht University, ESCP, Harvard, etc. The research-group is being managed by experienced consultants and management students, while representatives are present in institutions of higher learning, as mentioned above.
The research group has been formulated for conducting interdisciplinary research, on variegated issues of government, technology and finance. The research group conducts various projects, in association with faculty members.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The team requires a talented student, with experience in web-interface development (especially Wordpress). The ideal profile of the candidate would be a undergraduate student (freshman, sophomore or junior year of study – seniors can also apply), interested in working with an international team of scholars, faculty members and professionals. Ideally, you have worked with graphic design in the past, and have attained proficiency in at least one conventional design software. You should be sincere and forthcoming in your professional engagements, and capable of working with deadlines. You have an entrepreneurial spirit that is characteristic of startups, and a sense of keenness to learn and acquire new skill-sets. You prefer to work in teams, and build new initiatives, working in talent-communities. You have excelled in, at the least one project or undertaking that you embarked upon -- be it managing a club at your university, organizing a TEDx event, working on a research paper, undergoing an international-exchange, playing basketball or learning cello. You have a go-getter attitude and are comfortable with working long hours for making things happen. Above everything else, you have a sense of integrity, strong work ethics and are conscious of the responsibility to your professional commitments.

WORK PROFILE

Initially, you would be required to:-

1. Design a logo for the group,
2. Create a functional static website, with domain and email hosting. We require a simple, clean and minimal design, in this website.
3. Design a small 2 pg. dossier for digital distribution.

In the medium and long term, you would be required to:-

1. Manage the website and provide the team with analytics-based feedback,
2. Publish content on the website, (please note that content editing does not form a part of this work-profile)
3. Assist the team in design of 'virtual-tools' for the researchers to coordinate efforts, remotely (the primary design of these tools would be provided by the team which has to be creatively designed by the developer),
4. Create a backstage members login area on the website, where these tools would be published/uploaded,

VALUE PROPOSITION FOR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

Initially, there wouldn't be any monetary remuneration involved, for working with us in this capacity. However, at a later stage there is the possibility of providing the candidate with periodic allowances and/or a grant. But since this is not a commercial endeavour, the amount or frequency of such compensation can't be ascertained at this stage. This opportunity would also provide the candidate with the following benefits:-

A main feature of the work profile is working with the group members in designing a virtual environment for the researchers to coordinate their efforts remotely. These tools are to be designed from scratch and fine-tuned for use by the researchers, one conventional example of which is the Idea-Map; these tools and mechanisms will comprise a virtual platform. Working with the team, the designer would have the opportunity of shaping these tools which would be equivalent to an research project, in itself; this will also engender the candidate with marketable skills.
