Around 550 students registered for placements with 70 percent of them placed in the second phase, NIT Durgapur shows good progress this year. Most companies are walking in with the motto of definitely picking students from this institute. The premier technical education institutes of India are about to embark upon a venture where the students of National Institute of Technology (NIT) will be allowed to complete their final semesters in Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). The elite board of IIT directors has decided to deploy the IIT resources into amalgamating the cream of the crop, the proposal for which will be placed before the Standing Committee headed by HRD minister M M Pallam Raju.
